Cecil was originally interred in a temporary military cemetery in Italy and later disinterred and reinterred in Maeser Fairview Cemetery, Vernal, Uintah, Utah, USA.
Cecil was returned to the United States from Italy aboard the U. S. Army Transport "Carroll Victory" along with the remains of 4,842 Americans who lost their lives during World War II. Cecil was among 19 who were returned to Utah.
