The children of Russell and Matela Emmons Cohoon were:
1. Martha born and died in 1850,
2. Sarah P a twin to Martha who also born and died in 1850 and
Isaac who is buried in the other Cohoon Cemetery due to whatever disease he had when the army sent him home had to be buried quickly and they were unable to take him up that hill and bury him due to weather reasons.

The children that Russell and his second wife Susan Geneva Watson were:
1. John Martindale,
2. Mary Ann "Mollie" Cohoon Wells,
3. Nancy J Cohoon Gasaway,
4. Laura Isabelle Cohoon Gasaway,
5. Samuel S Cohoon,
6. William H Cohoon,
7. Harriet L Cohoon Pierce,
8. Betsy M Cohoon Hesson,
9. George Washington Cohoon,
10. Frances Edna Cohoon Posey,
11. Effie Cohoon Abshire.

After Russell Cohoon had passed away in 1880 Susan ran off and married Isaac Houghland and left her children.
John Martindale put his life on hold to raise his younger siblings and did not marry until after the youngest child was raised and had left home.
John Martindale is my Great Grandfather.
