James Franklin Haley

Age 59 years, four months and one day. A resident of East Prairie. Passed away December 29, 1997 at 9:04 a.m., in the Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.

Born August 30, 1938, in Charleston, Missouri. Son of the late James Franklin and Armelia Jane Fisher Haley. Mr. Haley had lived in Mississippi County all of his life, where he was a farmer and was of the baptist faith. On November16, 1959, he was married to Mary Kathern Guthrie, who survives of the home. Other survivors include, Kathy Shirl Johnson and Mary Ellen Ditto, of East Prairie. One sister; Callie Wheatley, of East Prairie. Five grandchildren: Cassie Miller, Chris Ditto, William Johnson, Candice Haley and Frankie Haley, all of East Prairie. A host of relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by one son, James Franklin Haley Jr., one brother, Billy Haley and one grandson, Dustin Miller.

Friends may call after 5:00 p.m., Tuesday December 39, at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday December 31, at 10:00 a.m. In the Shelby Chapel, with Bro. Richard Farquhar, pastor of the Freewill Baptist Church, in East Prairie officiating. Burial will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery near East Prairie, with Shelby Funeral Home of East Prairie, in charge of arrangements.
