Lawrence W. "Larry" Kubale, Sr., 91, longtime resident of Green Bay recently of Middleton, Wisconsin, died Friday, November 16, 2012. He was born September 13, 1921, in Reesdville, to William and Josephine (Novak) Kubale. On October 25, 1945 he married Dorothy Pritzl at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Brillion. He was a graduate of Reedsville High School in 1939. Lawrence served his country in the U. S. Army Air Force from 1941 to 1945. He attended flight school in Texas after Pearl Harbor. He was a glider pilot who served on major missions in the European Theatre of Operations, including the D-Day Normandy Invasion and Market Garden. Larry was a life member of the D.A.V. and the V.F.W. He also was a member of the National WWII Glider Pilot Association. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus 4th Degree Marquette Assembly. Larry and Dorothy were members of St. Jude Parish and St. Thomas Aquinas in Madison.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; five children and their spouses, Victoria Ann and John Kassner III, Elizabeth Jane and Jack Gaywont, Lawrence William Jr. and Pamela Kubale, Joseph John Kubale, Peter Anthony and Rebecca Kubale; his grandchildren, Matthew and Jesse Kassner, Melissa and Shawn Gaywont, Scott, Nikki, Andrea and Aaron Kremer-Kubale, Katie Josephine and Christopher Kubale; great grandchildren; one brother and two sisters, Bernard (Karen) Kubale, Kathryn Coonen, Dorothy Reinke. Lawrence was preceded in death by a son, John Joseph; daughter, Mary Kay Kubale; three brothers and one sister, Edward, William, Robert and Barbara.
