Robert "Bob" Kubale, 76, Green Bay resident, passed away Sunday, November 1, 2009 at Woodside Lutheran Home. Bob was born July 20, 1933 in Reedsville, WI to the late Joseph and Josephine (Novak) Kubale. Bob served his country as a member of the U.S. Army in Alaska during the Korean War. On June 24, 1961 Bob married Frances Birringer. He received his Bachelors Degree in education from UW-Oshkosh and then went on to earn a Masters degree in Mathematics from Reed College in Oregon. Bob spent his entire career sharing his teaching skills and compassionate ways with students at Washington Jr. High and East High School. After retirement, Bob volunteered as a tutor at many area schools; and also served as a volunteer at Bellin Hospital. In addition to teaching and tutoring the children of others, he found time to enjoy his own children and grandchildren, as well as golfing, bowling, reading, traveling and playing cards. Bob was a member of St. Mary of the Angels Parish for 45 years, where he was an altar server, greeter, member of the Men's Club, and an ever-ready volunteer each time a need arose. Faith and service to others marked Bob's entire life. He was a very kind and gentle man and will be sadly missed. Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Fran; two daughters Theresa (Jim) Ponto, Combined Locks, WI; Karen (Jesse) Romain, Woodbury, MN; and four grandchildren, Daniel Ponto, Joseph, Janessa and Christopher Romain. He is also survived by two brothers, Lawrence (Dorothy) Kubale, Middleton; Bernard (Karen) Kubale, Merton; three sisters, Kathryn (Bill) Coonen, Hartford; Dorothy Reinke and Barbara Meulemans, both of Reedsville and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward and Bill Kubale; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Harriet Kubale, Bob Meulemans, Ronald Reinke, and Mary Kubale. Friends may call at Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason Street on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. Parish Wake Service 7 p.m. Visitation will continue on Saturday at St. Mary of the Angels Church from 9 to 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. with Rev.
