Edward and Lottie were the parents of 3 children. The family lived in Wanda, Illinois for 32 years before moving to Wood River, Illinois in 1960.
Edward operated a barber shop in Wood River for many years until his retirement. He belonged to Barbers Union 81.
He was a member of Wanda Methodist Church. He also belonged to Edwardsville Lodge 99 AF&AM; Ainad Temple Shrine in East St. Louis, Illinois; and American Legion Post 204. He was a past commander of the post.
At the time of his death at the Madison County Nursing Home in Edwardsville, Edward was 74 years, 2 months and 7 days old.
He was survived by his wife, Lottie; 2 daughters, Thelma McCormick of Roxana, Illinois, and Lucille Paur of Edwardsville; 1 son, Vernon Brave of Edwardsville; 8 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Emma Schoenbaum of Wood River, and Tillie Bardelmeier of Edwardsville; and 1 brother, William Brave of Alhambra, Illinois.
In addition to his mother and father, Edward was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
Visitation was held on 30 Aug 1969 at the Marks Funeral Home in Wood River. Masonic services were conducted by the Edwardsville and Wood River Masonic Lodges at 8 p.m. that evening. Funeral services took place at the funeral home at 2 p.m. the following afternoon.
Edward's wife, Lottie, passed away in 1972 and was buried next to him.
