He was a past worshipful master of Occidental Lodge No. 163 A.F. and A.M., a member of St. Louis Chapter No. 8, Royal Arch Masons, of Aldemar Commandery, Knights Templar and Oriental Guide of Moolah Temple, Nobles of the Mystic Shrine. He was head of the wholesale drug firm of Niedringhaus & Koenecke.
