Berniece Branch Hopkins passed away peacefully Tuesday, November 20, 2012 in Eagle, Idaho. She was 93.

Berniece was born December 8, 1918 in Wellington, Utah, to Ezra and Violet Hanson Branch. She and her two older sisters grew up in Price, Utah.

She was working as a telephone switchboard operator in Price when she met Weber Elling Hopkins. They were married June 21, 1948. Together they started a business, State Electronics, and a family of two daughters. They had a beautiful home near Sandy, Utah where they cared for each other, their girls and many friends and neighbors.

Berniece enjoyed serving in her church callings and she loved doing things for her family and friends. She also appreciated the love and care she received from them, especially after Weber passed away.

She loved her husband, her daughters, her grandchildren, her sisters, nieces and nephews. She liked to travel, but always was happy to be home. She loved to be outside working in her yard or just enjoying the view of the mountains from her patio.

When her health no longer permitted her to live alone she moved to Idaho to be near her daughter. While in Idaho she made many new friends with her sunny personality and fun sense of humor.

Berniece is survived by her daughters, Catherine (Dale) Thorum and Abbie Ayers; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at Larkin Sunset Gardens 1950 East 10600 South Sandy, Utah on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at 2 pm.

Berniece's family is so grateful for the loving care and support from the staff at Spring Creek Manor and Vaughn and Jody from Legacy Hospice.

Donations in her name may be made to Legacy Hospice - Meridian Idaho by calling 208-895-8686 or mailing to Legacy Hospice 680 South Progress Ave, Suite 2A Meridian, ID 83642.
