On June 12, 1937 she married Nealie Willard Cummings in West Sanford, Lee County, NC. Witnesses were her brother, Reuben Hardy, and Wayne Cummings, brother of her husband. K.L. Baldwin JP performed the ceremony.
When she died on August 11, 2009, she had 3 surviving sons, Nealie, Freddie, and Eddie; a daughter Jewel; 9 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She had been married for an incredible 63 years.
She is buried in Raven Rock Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Mamers, off Hwy 421, West of Lillington, NC. It located off Raven Rock Road near Raven Rock State Park.
