Funeral services for Norma Olivia Black, age 90, of Rusk are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Monday, September 1, 2014 in First United Methodist Church in Rusk with Steve Slover and Rev. Jacob Smith officiating. Interment will be in Shiloh Cemetery under the direction of Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Rusk.
Mrs. Black passed away August 28, 2014 in a Jacksonville hospital. She was born June 12, 1924 in Amity, Arkansas to the late Eric Nathaniel and Beulah Moore Williams.
Mrs. Black was a lifelong resident of Rusk and a member of First United Methodist Church in Rusk. She retired from Rusk State Hospital after 31 years of service and loved to travel, laugh with friends and loved her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Winford Black, two brothers, Wingfield Williams and Gerald Williams, one sister, Kate Williams, grandson, Jason Hudson.
She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Rodney and Carol Black of San Antonio, TX, daughter, Rhonda Black of Longview, TX, son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Sandi Black of Alto, granddaughter, Cara Skinner and husband Todd of Longview, TX, grandson, Andy Hudson and wife Banna of Conroe, TX, three sisters, Bernice Dear of Rusk, Maxine Cummins of Rusk, Ann Spurgeon of Alto, four brothers, Travis Williams of Marlin, TX, Beuford Williams of Rusk, Dan Williams of Rusk, Roger Williams of Rusk, numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.
