2007 Obituary, Velia A. DeMarchi

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, N.J. — Velia A. (nee Pietrantozzi) DeMarchi, of Washington Township, formerly of Beckley, died Friday, Dec. 21, 2007. She was 92 years of age.

She was an outgoing, friendly woman who will be missed by many dear friends and family. Velia was one of nine siblings born in Ashland and lived in Chicago, Ill., Sarasota, Fla., and Beckley before moving to Washington Township in 1991 to be close to her daughter and family. An avid cook, Velia was known for her many great meals as well as enjoying dining out with her family. She loved country music and listening to her all-time favorite Elvis Presley. In the past year Velia was introduced to the Guardian Adult Day Care Center, which she thoroughly enjoyed, sharing her caring personality with all she met. After a serious illness, she then entered the Kennedy Health Care Center in Washington Township where she was lovingly cared for by their wonderful staff.

Velia was the beloved wife of the late Addone A. DeMarchi, devoted mother of Elaine C. Lanzilotta (Robert), loving and proud grandmother of Cristina Lanzilotta, and dear sister of Lena Massaroni (Armand), the late Mary DeMarchi (Pietro), the late Aldo, Carl, Dido, Dandelo, Louis and Nello Pietrantozzi.

Graveside rites and burial will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, at Sunset Memorial Park, Beckley, with the Rev. Mr. Don Wise officiating.

There will be no visitation.
