ENTERED INTO REST - Mrs. Mary Crow: died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. George Buss near Belmont [Kendall Twp.], Thursday, April 3, 1919 [Wednesday, 2 April 1919-LCRD's D/C].
Mary Ryan was born in Tipperary, Ireland, March 17, 1825. At the age of eight years she came to America with her parents, one sister and five brothers, all of whom preceded her to the grave many years. She made her home with her parents in the state of New York for several years after coming to this country. Here she received a very good education.
Later, the family moved to the middle west and in 1849 she and William Crow of Highland, WI, were united in the holy bonds of matrimony. To this union were born four daughters, Mrs. Johanna Kluck, Cuba City; Mrs. Anna Buss, Belmont; Mrs. Melissa Collins, Mineral Point; Josephine Crow, deceased; and six sons: William, Richard and Daniel, deceased; Frank of Chicago and Andrew of Kenosha.
The remainder of her life was spend in and about Mineral Point, where she won the respect of all her acquaintances. She struggled through great responsibilities with a cheerfulness that made her children and friends appreciate and honor her. She was left with the care of two small children while her husband sought a livelihood for them in the gold fields of California. After her husband's return they settled on a farm near Mineral Point, and here in 1871 her husband died.
About twenty years ago she moved to Mineral Point, where she lived until October 1917, when, when her health seemed to fail and she made her home with her children.
She was patient, optimistic, ambitious and energetic until the last. Though her family and friends knew that she could not remain with them many more years, yet there is a feeling of regret that one so happy and helpful as she could not be left to cheer them. Her life and kind disposition are a true monument of sincere faith and virtue to all her acquaintances. Although she lived beyond four score years and ten, illness was unknown to her and not until two weeks previous to her death was she confined to her bed.
The funeral was held Friday morning from St. Paul's Church with requiem high mass celebrated by Rev. Father O'Reilly. Her worthiness in the community was shown by her many friends and acquaintances who went to pay their last respects at her funeral.
Those from out of town who attended the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kluck of Cuba City, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Crow of Kenosha, Frank Crow of Chicago, Il., Mrs. Peter Whaley of Benton, and Mrs. B.A. Hefferman of Dubuque, Iowa.

Mrs. Mary Crow died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. George Buss, near Belmont, Wis., April 2, 1919.
Mary Ryan was born in Tipperary, Ireland, March 17, 1929. At the age of about eight years, she came to America with her parents, one sister, Anne (Mrs. Dennis Hogan of Cuba City), and five brothers, John, Martin, James, Michael and Daniel, all of whom proceeded her to the grave many years ago.
She made her home with her parents in the state of New York after coming to this country. Here she received a good education. To this union were born, four daughters, Mrs. Johanna Kluck of Cuba City, Mrs. Anna Buss of Belmont, Mrs. Melissa Collins of Mineral Point, and Josephine Crow (deceased); also six sons, William, Richard and Daniel (deceased), Frank of Chicago; and Andrew of Kenosha.

About twenty years ago, feeling that she must leave the farm, she moved to Mineral Point where she lived happily until in October 1917, her health seemed to fail and she made her home with her sons and daughters.
Through her life was one of serious trials yet she did not complain. She bore the troubles of her later life equally as well as those of her younger days for even after loosing a considerable amount of money in the bank disaster in Mineral Point, she looked upon the loss as God's will.
She was patient, optimistic, ambitious and energetic until the last. Though her family and friends knew that she could not be left with them many more years; yet there was a feeling of regret that one as happy and cheerful as she could not be left to cheer them.

Although she lived not only three score years and ten but four score and ten, Illness was unknown to her and not until three weeks previous to her death was she confined to her bed. It was then that she felt her time had come and reconciled with the fact that she had always been a very devout Catholic, that she had lived in every way right to the best of her knowledge, and with her children at her bedside, she was perfectly satisfied to answer God's summons.
