She was born on March 23, 1921, the daughter of Roman and Victoria (Krzesowiak) Listwan. On January 10, 1942, she was united in marriage to Frederick Hook of Lake.
Surviving are her husband, Frederick, of Lake; one daughter, Susan and Michael Gubert of Ann Arbor; one son, James Hook of Grand Rapids; three grandchildren; one brother, Anthony Listwan of California; and one sister, Mary Hook of Dearborn.
