From "The Weekly Record," New Madrid, Missouri newspaper, 19 June 1964, page 4; "Edward Walls, Parma Resident, Succumbs," Edward Walls, 76, died at a Poplar Bluff Hospital Tuesday. He was a retired farmer and businessman and had lived in the Parma area 49 years. Mr. Walls was born February 23, 1888 at Lawrenceville, Illinois, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Walls. The Rev. Robert Carter, pastor of the Parma General Baptist Church conducted funeral services at the Watkins and Sons Funeral chapel Friday at 2:00 P. M. Burial was in the Malden City Cemetery.
