Mrs. Marie (Rowland) Canup of Clarkesville died Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at Habersham Medical Center. She was 83.
Born in Hiawassee on February 15, 1929, Mrs. Canup was the daughter of the late William "Will" C. and Margaret (Sprinkles) Rowland. Mrs. Canup retired from the finishing department of Scovill Fasteners, Inc. with over 40 years of loyal service. She attended Turnerville Church of God.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Canup is preceded in death by her husband, Holman Canup; son-in-law, Namon Ivester; granddaugher, Rebecca Ivester; and half-sister, Effie Rowland.
The family received friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, November 21, and prior to the service on Friday, November 23.
Funeral services were Friday, November 23, 2012, at Hillside Memorial Cahpel. The Reverends Austin Ivester and Gerald Lee officiated, with interment following at Yonah Memorial Gardens.
