- believe that Martha Rogers appears in the 1850 census as Martha Housell, age 10.
- The transcript of the 1860 Census that I received notes the children below Martha ROGERS as all ROGERS children. I believe this to be incorrectly transcribed, but I do not have the original image to work with. These four marked with an asterisk are probably HOUSEL children, as is Mrs Martha ROGERS. Melvin is probably the child of Nelson and Martha ROGERS. Oscar also may not be a HOUSEL as he would have been born at about the time of Martin's death. However, with Oscar, Martha would be a young 17 and giving birth. According to information provided by descendant J.A. MALONEY, Martha married James KILFOYLE.
