Maude Meacham
(November 3, 1912 - October 27, 2007)

Maude Egbert Meacham

OGDEN – Maude Meacham died Saturday, October 27, 2007 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born November 3, 1912 in Millville, Utah to Robert Calvert and Sarah Jane Perry Egbert. Our precious mother will celebrate her 95th birthday at a joyous reunion with her husband, son, grandchildren and other family members who have been waiting for her.

Her childhood was spent on a farm near Grace, Idaho where she met Darwin Elgin Meacham. They were married August 13, 1932 in Logan, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. After their marriage they moved to Rock Springs, Wyoming where they lived until World War II when they moved to Ogden. She worked as a seamstress for a local tailoring company, at the Navy Base, and after the war at Swift Meat Packing Company where she retired.

She was an excellent seamstress and used her talent to create articles of clothing for her children. She enjoyed making chocolates and decorating birthday and wedding cakes for members of the family. She loved music and usually had music playing her home. Her family was always the center of her life and she enjoyed all of the family parties and trips with family members. She loved seeing all of the babies that came into her life as grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Maude was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many positions in the church. She especially enjoyed working in the Young Women's Mutual Organization.

She is survived by two daughters, Donna (George) Parker, Roy; and Carol (Darvel) Fielding, Roy; nine grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 24 great-great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are three sisters, Esther Morrell, Edmond, WA; Carma Dinwiddie, Roy; and Ellen Adkins, Clinton.

She was preceded in death by her husband, one son, three grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter, her parents, three brothers and five sisters.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 3 p.m. at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.

Friends may call at the mortuary on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday 1:45 to 2:45 p.m.
