JARECKI--Alois Jarecki Sr. dies on Saturday, funeral Wednesday
Alois P. Jarecki Sr., 73, Rt. 2, Columbus, died Saturday at St. Mary Hosptial after a ___-week illness.
Last rites will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Anthony Church, with Rev. Armand Lubanski officiating, and burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery. The body is to lie in state after 1 p.m. Tuesday at McKown Funeral Home, where rosary will be prayed at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday by the Holy Name Society and 8 p.m. by relatives and friends.
He was born April 5, 1898, in Platte County, the son of Stephen and Angeline Tryba Jarecki, and attended St. Stanislaus School at Duncan.
Mr. Jarecki was married to Mollie Malenia Czapla Oct. 15, 1929, at St. Stanislaus Church, Duncan. They farmed in Platte County 10 years, then moved to the present farm three and a half miles south of Columbus.
A Catholic, Mr. Jarecki was a member of St. Anthony Church and the Holy Name Society. His hobbies were hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Emil and Al Jr. of Columbus; five daughters, Mrs. Raymond (Judy) Alt of Shelby, Mrs. Ralph (Virginia) Wemhoff of Pearland, Tex., Mrs. Ronald (Dorothy) Shotkoski of Fullerton, Mrs. James (Lorraine) Gourka of Humphrey, and Mrs. Richard (Margaret) Borer of Columbus; and 21 grandchildren.
Also surviving are two brothers, Stanley and Emery of Columbus; and two sisters, Mrs. John Podraza and Mrs. Elizabeth Zabawa of Columbus.
His parents and one brother, Dominic, preceded him in death.
