Jacksonville - Graveside service for Clyde Ray, 75, will be Saturday, December 8, 2012, at 1 p.m. at the Brady Cemetery in Hope Hull, Alabama, with Ministers Jack Cates, Jeffrey Coalson and Robert Woods officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home tonight from 5-7 p.m and for a half hour prior to services at the cemetery on Saturday. Mr. Ray died Thursday, December 6, 2012, at Jacksonville Medical Center. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Verba Lee Brady Ray, of Jacksonville; three daughters, Clyda Lee Coalson and her husband, Jeffrey; Clarynda Hope Lewis and her husband, David and Charlotte Patricia Young and her husband Bernie; his twin sister, Clara Allen of Lyerly, Ga.; eight grandchildren, Tina (Robert) Woods, Caleb Coalson, Bryant (Jessica) Lewis, Skyler Lewis, Melody Lewis, Case Young, Cassidy Young and Carly Young; one great-grandchild, Elsa Lewis; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be David Lewis, Bryant Lewis, Bernie Young, Allen Brady, Randy Craig and Bennie Boddie. Honorary pallbearer will be Danny McCain.

Clyde enjoyed serving his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as a minister for 55 years. He also enjoyed ministering to people throughout his life time and he served as a funeral director at several funeral homes in Calhoun County. His final ministry was at Weaver Church of Christ, Weaver, Alabama. One of his greatest joys was time spent with his family. He was a devoted husband, brother, father, grandfather and friend.

•••NOTE••• Clyde was diagnosed with a rare and fast growing type of cancer known as Non-Hodgkins T-Cell Lymphoma. Five weeks after his initial doctor's visit, and after tests had been performed, his doctors made their conclusive diagnosis. He was given his first Chemotherapy treatment that day. The cancer progressed so rapidly that he was unable to take his next treatment. He lost his battle with this deadly disease in less than three months.
