Caudill rites held

Funeral services for Willie Caudill, 81, Jeremiah, were conducted Friday at the Blair Branch Regular Baptist Church by Elders Crit Eldridge, Verlon Fields, Raymond Collins, Manus Ison, John Preece, I. D. Back and Monroe Caudill.

Burial was in the John Hampton cemetery at Jeremiah.

Mr. Caudill died June 30 after a long illness.

He was born at Cornettsville and was a son of David and Caroline Cornett Caudill.

Early in life he was married to Bertha Caudill, and they had 11 children. After her death, he was married to Julia Hays, and after her death he was married to Delia Hale, who died a few weeks ago.

Mr. Caudill was a miner and a member of the United Mine Workers of America. He was a member of the Blair Branch Regular Baptist Church.

Surviving are five sons, Rankin Caudill and David Caudill, both of Fern Creek; Winslow Caudill, Jeremiah; Verlon Caudill, Kodak, and Hansford Caudill, Brinkley; three daughters, Mrs. Cora Everidge, Jeremiah; Mrs. Zannie Littlefield of Whitman, Mass., and Mrs. Oreva Dickson of Pembroke, Mass.; 47 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren.

Ray Collins funeral home had charge of funeral arrangements.
