Funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth Aubushon, who passed away at her home in Second Ward will be conducted from the Methodist Episcopal Church. Interment will be made in the city cemetery beside her husband and a son.
Elizabeth Brechbuhl (Breakbill) was born near Bern, Switzerland October 27, 1857, being aged 71 years. In 1871 at the tender age of 14 years, accompanied by a brother, she came over to this country, leaving behind a father, mother and other members of the family behind. She and her brother settled just over the Kansas line and labored together until 1874, when she was united in marriage to Laban Aubushon on what is known as the Aubushon homestead, just south of town. To this union seven children wre born, William, Ed, Lewis, John, Mrs. Harry Buckles and Belle Brubaker. One son Charles, passed about 16 years ago.
At a very early age the deceased united with the Methodist church and its teachings have truly been reflected in her every walk of life and that of the estimable family, which she reared to womanhood and manhood. For 20 years she was superintendent of the Penny Creek Community Sunday School and it was during this time that her teachings and kindly advice gave one of our Webster County boys, Earl Saladen the inspiration to enter the ministry. Mrs. Aubushon has been a patient sufferer for several years, but her last illness was very brief, she had taken ill late Saturday night. Everything that loving hands and the best of medical skills could do proved of no avail.
Out of respect for the family, the buisness houses of the city closed during the funeral hour and the Rebekah Lodge attended the services in a body.
