Funeral services for John Aubushon were conducted Sunday afternoon from the First Methodist church by Rev. Eugene Golay. A quartette composed of Messrs. Ernest Young, Glen Mountford, N.B. Bush and Dr. W. Guy Gillett sang, accompanied at the piano by Mrs. N.B. Bush. Interment was made in the city cemetery. Pallbearers were all nephews of the deceased: Chas. Stone, Gerald Whiteley, Verel Whiteley, Dallas Stokes, Clifford Aubushon and Bob Buckles.

John Aubushon, son of Labon and Elizabeth Aubushon, was born in the Penny Creek community near Red Cloud, September 30, 1883, and departed this life August 7, 1946, at his home in Red Cloud. He would have been 63 years old next month. Mr. Aubushon lived in and neor (sic) Red Cloud all of his life. On February 24, 1915, he was married to Grace Stewart. One son was born to them. His wife passed away July 8, 1936.

On November 22, 1937, he was married to Mrs. Minnie Trueblood of Red Cloud. After spending the winter in Arizona, Mr. and Mrs. Aubushon and Gene returned to make their home in Red Cloud. John, as he was known to everyone, was a man of superior charcter and highly esteemed by all who knew him. He was a patient, kindly loving husband and father. His family, home and surroundings were the center of his affections. Always unselfish, he was ever thoughtful of others. He was a true citizen, interested in the good life for the entire community. He supported the church and every worthy cause liberally. He was a lover of children and they naturally returned his affections. Many, many hearts have been made sad because of his death.

He leaves to mourn his passing: his loving wife Minnie, his son Gene and wife, one sister, Mrs. Harry Buckles of Red Cloud; two brothers, Will of Red Cloud, and Ed of Cozad; many other relatives and a host of friends. Two brothers and one sister preceded him in death. - Red Cloud Advertiser.
