Georgina was the daughter of David Colville and Janet Barr. Her father was the owner and founder of Colville and Sons, the largest iron and steel manufacturer in Scotland.

She married Dr. Zachary Taylor Emory in Glasgow in 1889. They had no children.

She came to the United States with him in 1890. They lived in Brooklyn where he was the Health Commissioner. They had no children.

In 1915 she is listed as a patient at Paine Whitney Psychiatric Clinic in White Plains, New York. According to Census records Zachary seems to have moved to White Plains to be near her.

In 1930 she was at the Falkirk Sanitarium in Woodbury County, also known as Dr. MacDonalds's House. Dr. Carlos Frederick MacDonald owned the hospital. She remained there until she died in 1941.
