Amon Wells Jr. was the son of Amon Wells Sr. and Mabel Keeler (Carter) Wells. Amon Wells Jr. was born in Lynn Massachuetts. His mother and father were in Mass. at that time because of his father's job in the shoe manufacturing business. Amon married Christine Murphy from Riverside, N.J. at the Moravian Church Parsonage on Bridgeboro Street in Riverside on June 28, 1930. Amon worked for John A. Roebling Steel in both Roebling and the Bridge Department in Trenton. He worked on the Golden Gate Bridge in California and also the Tacoma Narrows Bridge in Tacoma, Washington. He also worked on quite a few ski-lifts in the New England states.
