In the late 1920's Louis owned "Domingues Motor Co.", the Star and Hupmobile auto dealership in Kerrville. During World War II he was with the US Government, served in the US Corp of Engineers and also employed by the State of Texas Highway Department. He was the City Engineer of Kerrville. In 1949 he returned to Kerrville and established a private engineering and land surveying company, which is today owned and operated by his son Charles. Louis also maintained the ranch at Kelly Creek where he enjoyed the outdoors and hunting; an avid gun collector, and involved in square dance associations and social and civic organizations. He attained membership in the Son of the American Revolution organization.
Three sons of Louis and Peggy: Francis Joseph Domingues, (wife, Linda); Catholic Deacon Charles Bowman Domingues (wife, Sandy); and Louis Dean Domingue (wife, Aleta).
