Funeral services for Carl C. Conner, 72, of 210 N Choctaw, were held Sunday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Shamrock. Bill Lewis, pastor of the Eleventh Street Baptist Church officiated assisted by Rev. Murle Rogers, pastor of the First Baptist Church. Burial was in the Shamrock Cemetery under direction of Richerson Funeral Home. W.W. Henry, Elmer Hiltbrunner, Carl Dennis, Bill Franklin, Jim Gray and Herbert Massey served as pallbearers. Serving as honorary pallbearers were Bill Lang, Emmett Kidwell, Duke Morgan, George Methenia, Bryan Eoff, Jim Clark, Carl Wilkinson and Walter Ellerbee.

Mr. Conner died at 8:00 a.m. Saturday in the Shamrock General Hospital following a long illness. A retired farmer, he was born July 19, 1899 in Comanche and moved to Wheeler County in 1912. He and Miss Christine Conner were married March 23, 1936 in Texola, Oklahoma. He was a member of the Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, of the home, one son, Billy Conner of Amarillo; three daughters: Miss Betty Conner of Amarillo, Miss Margie Conner and Mrs. Claudine Finsterwald of Shamrock; two sisters: Mrs. E.L. Isaacs of Shamrock, Mrs. Nettie Grigsby of Comanche; four brothers: Roy and Earl Conner of Shamrock, Lester Conner of Desert Hot Springs, California, and three grandchildren.
