A pioneer resident of the Shamrock area, Mrs. Mary Etta Conner, 92, died at 4 o'clock Sunday afternoon in Shamrock General Hospital where she had been a patient for about one week.

Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon in the First Baptist Church with the Rev. M.E. Wyatt, pastor, officiating, assisted by the Rev. R.K. Whitaker of this city. Pallbearers were: L.B. Copeland, Quinn Hendricks, Wren Hartman, Carl Henry, W.W. Henry and Vernon Sherman. Richerson Funeral Home was in charge of interment in Shamrock Cemetery.

Mrs. Conner was born August 24, 1870 in Morehouse Parish, La., and was married February 27, 1890, in Morehouse, to J. T. Conner. The couple moved to Comanche, Texas from Louisiana in 1896, and came to the Shamrock area November 6, 1912. They farmed in the China Flat Community before moving to Shamrock to make their home.

Mr. Conner passed away August 22, 1924. Mrs. Ace Rainey, preceded her mother in death August 13, 1961.

One hundred and three of Mrs. Conner's 109 direct descendants are still living. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Shamrock.

Survivors include: two daughters, Mrs. Walt Grigsby of Comanche and Mrs. E.L. Isaacs of Shamrock; five sons, Earl, Carl and Roy Conner, all of Shamrock, Audrey Conner of Borger, and Lester Conner of Los Angeles, Calif; 32 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
