ADKINSON, JESSIE S. Adkinson, Jessie S, age 102 of Irondale, AL passed away on December 14, 2012. She was a member of Irondale Methodist Church for over 50 years, an active member of Fairfield Alumni Association, class of 1929. She was a member of Eastern Star and retired from the City of Irondale where she was the head of the water department. Until recently she was an active participant in the Irondale Senior Citizens with whom she traveled extensively. Her other interest were gardening, needle work and her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Adkinson; daughter, Linda Davis; grandson, Christopher Adkinson; parents, Wesley and Margaret Schaffner; 6 brothers and 1 sister. Jessie is survived by her son, Mark (Billie) Adkinson; grandchildren, Cathy (Mel) Lewis and Jesse (Natalie) Adkinson; 4 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. The family wishes to thank the caregivers, Debra Clay and Lana Connell. Visitation will be Sunday, December 16, 2012 from 6 PM until 8 PM at Ridout's Trussville Chapel. Funeral service will be Monday, December 17, 2012 at 12 Noon at Ridout's Trussville Chapel. Interment will follow at Forest Crest Cemetery.
