My grandmother, Fannie Russell was born in Naples,Italy, lived in Ct. then Brooklyn New York then moved to Long Island where she resided with her second husband Edward Russell, after Edward died, she lived there many years on her own in a cute little white house, with lots of land, in the town of Seldon. Her passion, other than her family was gardening and baking. She taught me much about gardening. She was a very loving , self dependant woman. I stayed with her in Long Island for many summers when school was on break. She taught me to crochet, knit, garden, cook and so many other things. Those were her pastimes, and things she enjoyed. She is missed very much. My grandmother had 5 live children, the 6th died at birth. My mom was her oldest daughter, followed by Mary, Vivian, Dorothy, and her one living son Robert. Her first husband, who was my mothers father was Frank Romanello, he died at a young age. She is missed more than i can say. A wonderful loving woman who taught me so very much. She lived 84 wonderful years and was active for all of them. Her death was very unexpected. Nana,,,,,, I love you forever, you gave me memories no one can take.
