She was born Jan, 21, 1930, in Woodstock, to Howard James and Olivene (Bumsted) Walkington.
She was the superintendent secretary for District 200 for many years. She enjoyed playing golf. She also enjoyed entertainig friends and family on many special occasions with the wonderful food she would cook. She loved spending time with her family most of all, and she always put her family first.
She is survived by her husband, John Scheele; her daughter, Becky Berg; two sons, Scott Axelson, and Howard Axelson; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, George and Glen; four sisters, Lois, Caryl, Barbara, and Peggy; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Howard and Robert.
The visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Apr. 28, at the Schneider-Leucht-Merwin & Cooney Funeral Home, 1211 N. Seminary Ave., Woodstock, IL. The gathering will continue at 10 a.m. until the funeral at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 29, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
