Josiah is the son of David Bradbury and Susannah Craig (b.1762, d.1819).

Josiah married Mary "Polly" Lord on 7 Feb 1809. They had a daughter they named Mary in 1819.

Polly and Josiah had 13 children that they named: Susannah, Joseph, John Lindsey, James, Lucinda Araminta, Mary, David, Sarah Jane, Rebecca A., Abner M.,. Prosper N., Samuel H. and Abiel H. L. Bradbury.
