Elizabeth, the third of eleven children of John McQuigg Jr. (1750-1804) and Sarah Coburn (1747-1832) was born on 23 March 1778 at Litchfield, New Hampshire. Elizabeth married Lemuel Brown, the son of Abraham and Beulah (Patterson) Brown say 1798 at Owego, New York. They had nine children born at New York:
1. Richard Brown (b. 1799; d. 1879) m.
2. Abram Brown (b. 1800; d. 1878) m. 1833 at Owego, NY, Catherine R. Goetchius (1810-1881)
3. Robert Brown (b. 1802; d. 1869) m.
4. Sarah Brown (b. 1804; d. 1851) m.
5. Lemuel Brown (b. 1806; d. 1835)
6. Ransom Brown (b. 1808; d. 1837)
7. Horatio Brown (b. 1810; d. 30 Jul 1874, Grand Rapids, MI)[1] m. bef. 1872, Eunice Goodrich (1823-1852)
8. Eliza Brown (b. 1813; d. 1894) m. 1833 at Owego, NY, William Barns (1809-1870)
9. Frederic Brown (b. 1816; d. 1873) m. 18 Oct 1842 at Spencer, NY, Charlotte Susan McQuigg (1820-1893)
