Roy Allen Bancroft passed away peacefully on September 17, 2012 at the age of 88. He was born on June 14, 1924 near Chilton to the late Trubert and Ethel Towne Bancroft. Roy served his country in the Army Air Corps and later graduated from MSOE with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He worked for many years at Hevi Duty Electric Company and completed his career at Sorgel Electric, later a division of Square D Corporation.
Roy was married to Marjorie Hennings of Kiel for 55 years until her death in 2007. Roy was also preceded in death by his parents and his sister Helen Jaschob.
Roy is survived by his children, Lynn and husband Will of Charlotte NC, David of Greendale and Laurie and husband Carl of Racine. He also leaves behind three grandchildren, Adrienne and husband Eric, Richard and Carol as well as two great-grandchildren, Henry and Will. He is further survived by his sisters Ruth , Hazel (Peggy), Bernice and brother Harold (and Marlene).
Roy loved his family above all else. He was an avid sports fan who loved the Packers, Badgers and Brewers and was a student of history as well. He and Marge filled their retirement years traveling and researching their family history creating two books detailing the family genealogy.
