The family lived in Kentucky, Ohio and Indiana at various times. After her mother Jane Rogers died in 1828, her father married Jane Ware 30 Nov 1831 and settled in Ohio.
On 10 Oct 1833, Clemency married William H. Johnson of Virginia in Ripley, County, IN., and it is uncertain if they had any children. At times, Pribble/Preble nieces and nephews of Clemency lived with them. Also, a nephew John W. Johnson was raised by them.
Cemetery burial comes from a Preble book by Henry Uylat: "There is a tall female statue marking the grave of Clemency Preble Johnson which dominates the Johnson graveyard located about four miles southeast of Versailles, Indiana. The road leading to it branches off to the south one mile east of Versailles leading toward a Boy Scout camp".
Some of the markers from the Johnson family farm were moved to nearby Bethel Cemetery.
