William A Gahan, 68, Milwaukee, a native Tomahawk resident who at one time was associated in the furniture and undertaking business here, died last Wednesday in Milwaukee.
Mr Gahan was born in Tomahawk to Ben J and Nary Noonan Gahan in 1901. He was graduated from Tomahawk high school and was associated for a time with his father in Gahan Furniture and Undertaking.
He was married in 1924 to Marie Cull of Tomahawk and moved to Milwaukee in 1926. He was employed for 19 years by the Wisconsin Bridge and Iron company and for 20 years by Lakeside Bridge and Steel company.
Survivors are three sons, William T and Fredrick, Milwaukee, and John E Seattle, Wash.; a daughter, Jean Roberts, Plymouth, Wis; 21 grandchildren; a brother, Andrew Gahan, Eau Claire; two sisters, Genevieve Reich, Tomahawk, and Colette Shorey, Rhinelander; a sister-in-law, Mirth Gahan, Tomahawk; and an aunt, Miss Margaret Noonan, Tomahawk.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Joseph and Ben.
Services were Saturday in Holy Redeemer church, Milwaukee, with interment in Calvary cemetery, Tomahawk.
