Russell Andrew Mullis, 81, of Elizabethtown, died at 9:40 a.m. Friday, December 28, 2012, at his residence.

He was born in Brown County, October 23, 1931, the son of the late Elmer and Lottie Harden Mullis. He married Mary A. Bailey on December 11, 1952, in Nashville. She preceded him in death on December 11, 1997.

He was a self-employed, running a heating, air conditioning and electrical business. He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church, Columbus American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and Disabled American Veterans. He served in the U.S. Army in Korea, where he received the Bronze Star.

He is survived by a daughter, Theresa G. (Kim) Bost of Largo, Fla.; sisters, Esta Heck of Columbus and Betty (Harold) Walls of Seymour; and a granddaughter, Mariah Young of St. Petersburg, Fla.

A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Garland Brook Cemetery with the Rev. Ancel Harden officiating. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements were made by Myers-Reed Chapel on 25th Street.
