Albert Benjamin "Happy" Chandler (July 14, 1898 – June 15, 1991) was a Kentucky politician. He represented the state in the U.S. Senate and served twice as Governor of the Commonwealth. (44th and 49th governor). Aside from his political positions, he also served as the second Commissioner of Major League Baseball from 1945 to 1951 and was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1982.
Their son Robert Jennings Chandler died in 1914 (at age 14) from injuries suffered in a fall from a tree.
