Husband to Alta Sarah Milbourn McCants
Caldwell - William Joseph McCants, 82, retired Road Machine operator for Sumner County, died Saturday in the Caldwell Hospital where he had been nine days.
He was born Oct 16, 1888 at Spruce, MO. He was employed by the county out of Wellington. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife Alta (Milbourn) McCants on Oct. 10, 1938.
Survivors include three sons, Kenneth of Caldwell, William D. of Los Angeles, Calif, and Robert of Topeka, KS; one brother Jess McCants of Renfrow, Okla; six grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Schaeffer - Thompson Funeral Home, Caldwell, KS. The Rev. Charles Boshell of the Assembly of God Church, will be officiate. Burial will be in Caldwell Cemetery.
