Mrs Rachel Alexander was born in Rockville Ind., in 1825, and died at the home of her daughter. Mrs. T.O. Teller, Dec., 28, 1909. Of a family of seven, two children survive her, Mrs. Teller, of Miller, and Geo. Alexander, of Albia Iowa. She came to Hand county in 1883 with her husband, and since his death in 1894, has resided with her daughter.

The funeral services were conducted at the home last Friday morning by Rev. Grube, with music by the church choir. The remains were laid to rest in the G.A. R. cemetery.
