James Edward Kirkwood, 80, of Bowling Green, KY, formerly of Mayfield, passed away on Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at the Hospice House of Southern Kentucky in Bowling Green, KY.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Mayfield, KY, and was a retired systems analyst for Enro Shirt Company of Louisville, KY.
Mr. Kirkwood is survived by his wife of 56 years, Margaret Archer Kirkwood of Bowling Green, KY; his sons, Jon (Patricia) Kirkwood of St. Leonard, MD and Trace (Dana) Kirkwood of Bowling Green, KY; his daughters, Robin Archer of Louisville, KY and Mary Layton of Shelbyville, KY; one brother, Charles Kirkwood of Oak Ridge, TN; seven Grandchildren and 2 Great-Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lorenzo and Mary Erwin Kirkwood.
Graveside memorial services for Mr. James Edward Kirkwood will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 6th at Highland Park Cemetery, with Rev. Joe Hansen officiating.
Friends may call on the family after 12:00 p.m. on Sunday at Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield.
