Mrs. Eva (nee Roth) Peter was born Feb. 15, 1867 in Odessa, Russia. She passed away Thursday morning, Sept. 19, 1968, at the age of 101 years, 7 months and 4 days.

At the age of 17 years she came to the Sutton vicinity with her parents. On July 24, 1887, she was united in marriage to Philip Peter and they made their home on a farm in Fillmore county. Five sons and seven daughters were born to this union. They also raised two step-sons. In 1918 the family moved to Sutton. For the past 5 years. Mrs. Peter had been a resident at the Lichtenberg Rest Home. Her husband passed away on March 17, 1915 and three sons and one daughter preceded her in death.

Survivors to mourn her passing are her children, Ada, Fred, Hannah, Rhiney, Ruben, Rachel, Elsie, Sophia, Kate, Henry; 52 grandchildren; 141 great grandchildren; 89 great-great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-great grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Henry Schmetlin, Sutton; Mrs. Henry Bettger, Greeley, CO. Three brothers and three sisters preceded her in death.
