Funerals services for Mrs. John (Emma) Gilk were held Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Farming Township. Burial was made at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.

Mrs. Gilk died Monday, April 24, at 5:00 a.m. at the St. Cloud Hospital. She had been in ill health for sometime.

She was born February 20, 1879 in Holdingford, Minnesota to the late Christopher and Mary Roehrs.

On February 23, 1904 she married John Gilk at the Immanuel Lutheran Church and since her marriage she has made her home in the Albany area.

She is survived by one son, Waldamar Gilk of Albany. There are six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

She husband preceded in death March 28, 1951. Four sisters and six brothers also preceded her in death.

Pallbearers were Robert Christen, Otto Christen, Jake Christen, Al Markus, Henry Huberty and Al Metzer.

Emma Louise Roehrs was baptized on April 21, 1879 in the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, Farming Township, Minnesota. Rev. Karl Mende officiated the baptism with Karl Reinke and Lydia Reinke serving as sponsors.

She married John F. Gilk on March 1, 1904 in the St. John's Lutheran Church, Krain Township, Minnesota. Rev. Heinrich Nauss officiated the ceremony. The witnesses were Carl Rohrs, Casper Rohrs, Theresa Gilk and Ludwig Gilk.
