Obituary for Doris Farrington
Doris Rose Farrington, 80, of N3905 Pine Mountain Road, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 9, 2009, at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital in Iron Mountain, MI. Doris was born on May 29, 1929, in Iron Mountain to Italian immigrants Angelo Mariucci and Rose (Marchioni) Antonetti Mariucci. She was the last child and only daughter of 12 children.

Doris graduated from Iron Mountain High School in 1947.

On Nov. 4, 1950, she married the love of her life, Eugene James Farrington and together they raised five children.

Doris was an active member of St. Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church. In 1988, after 19 years of service, Doris retired from Wisconsin Electric Power Co. In retirement, she enjoyed playing cards with friends, summers on the Menominee River and family gatherings.

"Noni", as Doris was affectionately called by her grandchildren, devoted her life to family. She found great joy in caring for them and especially seeing others enjoy her wonderful Italian meals. She selflessly sacrificed her own time and needs for her family and always made sure that her household was in order.

Doris is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Eugene;
five children: Jean Farrington (George Triantafillou) of Saginaw, MI; Cynthia (Doug) Caudell of Iron Mountain, MI; Diane (Charles) Newby of Iron River, MI; Edward (Jodie) Farrington of Aurora, Wis. and Mary Rose Farrington (John Freeman) of Traverse City, Mich.;
10 grandchildren: Nicholas Triantafillou, Lisa Pellegrini, Allyson Caudell, Nathan, Jamie, Adam and Aren Newby, Amber, Jason and Jacob Farrington;
three step-grandchildren: Todd and Shane Caudell and Matthew Freeman;

and a step-grandson John Jarrod Freeman.
