MENDICINO, JOSEPH - Joseph Mendicino, 89, of Tabernacle, NJ, died Wednesday, June 9, 1999 at the Memorial Hospital in Burlington Co., Mt. Holly, NJ. Born in Switchback, WV, he lived in Port Chester residing in Tabernacle for 11 years. A United States Navy and Merchant Marines, World War II and Korean War veteran, Mr. Mendicino was employed by the maintenance department of Playland Park, Rye for 35 years, retiring in 1976. His wife, Gilda, predeceased him in 1996. Mr. Mendicino is survived by his daughter, Bernadette Scocchio of Tabernacle; his brother, Michael of Port Chester; and two grandchildren, Debra and John. Services and entombment will be held Friday, June 11 10:30 am at Locustwood Memorial Park, Route 70, Cherry Hill, NJ. A memorial mass will be celebrated Monday, June 14 9:30 am at Corpus Christi R.C. Church, Port Chester. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
