Wilferd W. "Bill" Smothers, 77, of Libertyville, Illinois, passed away Monday, Dec. 8, 1997 at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, IL. He was born Sept. 6, 1920 in Sigourney, Iowa, was a former resident of Mundelein, IL, and has lived in Libertyville for the past 20 years.

He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, having served during World War II, and was a member of the Libertyville American Legion Post #329. Bill was a former Assistant Postmaster for the Libertyville Post Office and had been employed at Ace Hardware in Mundelein for the past 15 years.

Surviving are his wife Janet (nee Pawloski) Smothers...
