Marvin L. "Shortie" Holt, 74, of Route 1, Columbia, died Monday, Oct. 29, 1984, at the Westlake Cumberland Hospital after a long illness. He was the son of the late Rufus and Millie Redmon Holt and a member of the Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Anna Perkins Holt of Route 1, Columbia; one son, Jimmy Holt of Campbellsville; one daughter, Faye Smith of Route 1, Greensburg; three brothers, Elmer Holt and Joe Clarence Holt both of Campbellsville and Granville Holt of Salem, Ind.; one sister, Hattie Thomas of Bloomington, Ind.; three grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and one step-great-grandchild. Funeral was Wednesday, Oct. 31, at 2 p.m. at the Grissom-Maupin-Heskamp & Morrison Funeral Home with Bro. Ralph Hadley and George Hancock officiating. Burial will be in the Hovious Cemetery. Pallbearers were David Perkins, David Bridgewater, Max Taylor, Edward Dulworth, Estill Risner, Gaylord Henson, Ray Wilkerson, and Ralph Bault.
