James Edgar Atchley, 75 of Charleston, SC, a former resident of Chattanooga who had lived in the Charleston area for the past 25 years, died Saturday morning in a Charleston Hospital.
A memeber of James Island Baptist Church in Charleston, he is survived by his wife, Mrs.Opal Atchley Charleston (SC); one daughter, Mrs. ..Inez Parson, Chattanooga (TN; one son, Theodore Atchley of Charleston (SC); one brother Audie Atchley Chattanooga; six sisters, Mrs. Perry (Bonnie) Knox, Exet CA; Mrs. Virgil (Minnie) Zachary Pompano Beach, FL; Mrs. R.S. (Nannie) Grant. Cleveland, TN; Miss Leola Atchely Mrs. Willis (Alice) Beard, Mrs. R.L. (Mildred) Kendrick, all of Chattanooga.
Also surviving are three grandsons, James Parson, Houston, TX; Ted Atchley (Jr), Beckley, WV; and Allen Atchley (Sr)of Columbia, SC; four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
