Henry C. Behnke 63, of Rt. 1, Cato, died Sunday evening at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc, where he had been a patient 10 days after a coronany attack. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Town of Liberty. The Rev. Samuel Kugler will officiate and burial will be in Brillion Cemetery.

Mr. Behnke was born June 1, 1904, on Rt. 2, Brillion, son of the late Fred and Ida Schultz Behnke Sr. He married Esther Reimer Dec. 4, 1924, at Reedsville Lutheran Church. His wife preceded him in death in 1953. He farmed in Brillion for 12 years and at that time moved to Rt. 1, Cato, where he farmed for 32 years and had just retired.

Survivors include three sons, Willard of Manitowoc, Harold of Rt. 4, Manitowoc, Henry Jr., of Rt. 1, Manitowoc; five daughters, Mrs. Emil (Evelyn) Carstens of Manitowoc, Mrs. Charles (Elmira) Preston of Whitelaw, Mrs. Leroy (Doris Mae) Laabs of Rt. 1, Manitowoc, Mrs. Robert (Delores) Eickart of Rt. 2, Brillion, and Mrs. Gene (Beverly) Sonnabend of Rt. 2, Reedsville; a brother, Herman of Brillion and five stepbrothers, Ervin, Robert and Milton Behnke of Brillion and Waldamar of Reedsville and Fred Schaeffer of Hilbert; two sisters, Mrs. Carl Ghurow(sic) of Brillion and Mrs. Laura Hartz of Hilbert; a stepsister, Mrs. Milton Nitschke of Van Dyne, Wis., and 30 grandchildren. Two sons, a brother and two sisters preceded him in death.
