The obituary of Enoch Wiley Webb as published in the March 28, 1929, issue of The Mountain Eagle:
Another Old Webb Called
A few days ago Dutch Webb, aged about 86, reared in the Bottomfork section and for years residing in the lower river regions, died from infirmities incident to old age. He had been in poor health for some years. He was a son of the late Captain Dutch Webb and a member of the well know family of that name in this county. Aunt Rachel, his life companion, who was a daughter of the late Allen Adams, passed on before him only a year ago.
Only one now of the many limbs of the old Dutch Webb family tree, so far as we recall, now withstands the lapping tides of life. This one is Little Joe Webb, still active and playful at eighty and residing near the old family home-stead on Bottomfork. Just a month or so ago Uncle Sam Webb, grand and noble old Rebel as he was, passed to his reward and a few days following his widow, Aunt Nancy, was also called home. How rapidly the leaves are falling, yea, even the last leaves on many of the old branches that once reared their heads in the sunlight of a wonderful civilization. Little Dutch has answered the last roll-call and gone over to meet the realities of the other life. Here's sympathies to the living.
