Captain James Burbidge was also known as Burbridge. Son of John and Louisa Burbridge who are presumed to both be buried in the Old Church in downtown Hartford.

Probably born in or near Hartford, CT, James married 1st Sally DuBois November 25, 1806 and had daughter Mary Ann October 26, 1807. His wife died 2 weeks after giving birth on November 7, 1807 and was returned to her family to be buried in Pleasant Valley, NY. Mary Ann was raised by her DuBois family to my understanding. She married Gurdon Coit, Esq and died at the age of 33 on May 24th 1842 in NYC. A Captain DuBois who went down with the steamer Pulaski off South Carolina coast was apparently related to Mary Ann according to a letter written by her brother John William Burbidge.

He married 2nd Elizabeth Nott of Wethersfield on Aug 7, 1808 in Middletown. He was a Captain during the War of 1812. They had 7 children:

A stillborn child born in Rocky Hill on March 14, 1809.
John William Burbidge born April 10, 1810 in Rocky Hill, died April 12, 1891 married Elizabeth Riggs and removed to Walterboro, South Carolina
Tediom Charles born Nov 23, 1811 died Dec 10, 1812
Clarissa Elizabeth born October 13, 1813 in Rocky Hill, died April 6, 1892 in Hamden, CT never married (but I have her baby booties!)
Stillborn born Aug 11, 1818 in Rocky Hill
Charles Henry Burbidge Sr born July 17, 1819 in Rocky HIll married Elizabeth Taylor Foster died June 29, 1887 (he is buried here with his parents)
James FitzEdwards Burbidge born Oct 24, 1821 died March 29, 1845 (buried here with his parents)
